Project Start Recruitment are working with a local Yate company and they are looking for a Part Time (3 days a week) all-round Accounts Assistant / Book Keeper to join their Yate team.
The position is within a family run business who have been trading for the past 15 years.
Experience of Sage Cloud is essential along with good Sales Ledger & Purchase Ledger knowledge within busy team.
You will need to have good IT skills.
Able to work accurately on an independent basis but as part of a team
An outgoing and confident character with good communication skills and able to resolve customer queries by telephone and email
A flexible and adaptable approach to different accounting challenges
The duties and responsibilities of this role largely consist of the following:
All Book Keeping duties
Processing of customer invoices
Preparation of weekly payment run
Raising credit notes for customers
Credit Control activities
Full responsibility for customer accounts payable liaison in relation to invoice queries, credit note request and payment confirmations
Assist in the reconciliations of accounts payable during month end
Administration tasks, including filling, scanning and uploading documents to central data system, and the retrieval of documents both physical and electronic
Assist with Year End Audits
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Basic bookkeeping & accounts experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills & ability to work across functional departments
Strong attention to detail, analytical approach to problem solving
Proactive and methodical attitude with ability to work unsupervised
Passion for working in a multi-cultural business
Working to high levels of accuracy
You will need to possess good numeracy skills and include a C or above in GCSE Math’s, good use of the Sage Cloud Accounting system and perhaps further accounting qualifications e.g. AAT
